GOLDWASSER SUITE

Jerzy Maksymiuk conductor
Marta Boberska soprano
Ewa Marciniec mezzo-soprano
PFB Symphony Orchestra

Jerzy Maksymiuk about the composition: Goldwasser suite is a composition that I wrote at the request of Mr. Wolfgang Dockerill and the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. It is also dedicated to the sponsor. The premiere took place on October 1, 2014 at a concert dedicated to the anniversary of German Unification. Consul Cornelia Pieper took part in it.
The song was intended to refer to the color of Gdańsk and its history, including that related to the history of Goldwasser liqueur, the production of which began in this city in 1528. This exquisite drink with an extremely complex and original recipe, with particles of gold floating in it, is also an expression of tradition, the complexity of history, and, in a sense, a part of the Gdańsk landscape and colour, customs and meetings. To put it simply, you can say that it is also a piece of Gdańsk. The form of the suite I chose allowed me to musically present the different colors of this city.

Recording of the concert on October 1, 2014 at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. Fryderyk Chopin in Gdańsk as part of a concert on World Music Day on the German Unification Day.
Recording, mixing, mastering: Igor V. Budaj.
