Pomeranian Artistic Award 2024 - nominations

A ceremonial ceremony will be held on April 25 at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Pomeranian Artistic Awards Galaj. That's when the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Mieczysław Struk, will present the Pomeranian Griffin statuettes, designed by Maria Kuczyńska. The award is granted in three categories: Artistic Creation (three out of ten nominees), Pomeranian Artistic Hope (one winner out of three nominees) and Patronage of Culture (one company out of three nominees). In addition, the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship may issue an order Great Pomeranian Artistic Award for all creativity.

The winners in these fields are selected by two chapters: the Small Chapter of the Pomeranian Artistic Award, consisting of representatives of culture, media and art universities, selects the nominees, while the Large Chapter, which also includes winners from previous years, votes for the Award winners. The winners receive their awards at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. The official part will follow symphonic concert with the participation of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of maestro George Tchitchinadze. Its star is a Hungarian pianist Gabor Farkas. The program includes compositions by Gioacchino Rossini, Ferenc Liszt and Maurice Ravel.

Piotr Biedroń (actor of the Wybrzeże Theater) for two main roles in the performances "Piękna Zośka" directed by Macin Wierzchowski and "Wyzwolenie" directed by Jan Klata;

Stasia Budzisz (writer, reporter, film expert, translator from Russian) for the book "Welewetka. How Kaszuby disappears";

Hanna Dys (instrumentalist, organist, Ph.D. in musical arts) for the CD publishing house "Organ transcriptions";

André Hübner-Ochodlo (singer, theater director, set designer) for the premiere of the music program "Ghetto Songs. Concert commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising" and for the premiere of the music program "Five Loves";

Dorota Karaś i Marek Sterlingow (writers, reporters) for the book "Urban. Biografia";

Jan Klata (theatre director) for directing the play "Wyzwolenie" by the Wybrzeże Theater;

Łukasz LUC Rostkowski (music producer, rapper, vocalist, composer, lyricist and director of music videos, concerts and shows) for the music for the film "Chłopi" directed by Hugh Welchman and Dorota Kobiela;

Jerzy Snakowski (cultural animator, popularizer of opera, musicals and ballet) for the series of music broadcasts "Opera? Si!" with educational values, conducted for 15 years at the Baltic Opera, both for adults and children. The topic of the meetings is opera as a musical work;

Krzysztof Sperski (musician artist, full professor, pedagogue, university lecturer, cultural animator) - for the 2500th concert as part of the Thursday Music Evenings at the Sierakowski Manor;

Mikołaj Trzaska (artist musician, saxophonist, bass clarinetist, composer of film and theater music) - for the music for the film "Kos" directed by Paweł Maślony.

Adrian Apanel (film director and screenwriter) for directing the film "Horror Story"

Karolina Kowalska (actress of the Wybrzeże Theater) for her roles in the performances "Piękna Zośka" directed by Macin Wierzchowski and "Romeo and Juliet is not dead" directed by Michał Siegoczyński

Aleksandra Rowicka (actress) for the title role in the play "Alice in Wonderland" directed by Wojciech Kościelniak at the Nowy Teatr. Witkacy in Słupsk

PATRONAGE OF CULTURE (alphabetical order)

Laminopol sp z o. o (distributor of resins and all kinds of additives necessary for the processing of chemically hardened plastics) for supporting cultural activities in Słupsk. Donation of concerts of the Słupsk Philharmonic Sinfonia Baltica, the Słupsk Sinfonietta, the Niemen Non Stop festival or rock concerts and local artists with the belief in building the potential of the place thanks to the diversity and richness of forms of artistic expression;

Gdańsk Airport. Lech Wałęsa (international airport in Gdańsk) for supporting cultural initiatives, especially those related to the history of Pomerania, as well as supporting committed artists of our region; in 2023, the Airport Authority supported the purchase of a work by SI, Witkiewicz with an amount of over PLN 150 - a portrait of Witkacy's cousin Tadeusz Wawrzyniec Pietrzkiewicz;

Ziaja Ltd Zakład Produkcji Leków Sp z o. o (a company producing pharmaceuticals and high-quality cosmetics for face, body and hair care) for its contribution to the digital development of the Musical Theater in Gdynia and many years of patronage cooperation. In 2023, Ziaja contributed to the operation of a ticket machine at the Musical Theater in Gdynia, enabling viewers to purchase tickets in a self-service manner. The Musical Theater can always support innovative projects and community-building events. Nomination also for constant support of the Wybrzeże Theater.
